The triathlete
We had our first family meal in a while the other night, and my son asks "What's in the box?"
I tell him “a bike.”
He says sarcastically "Why do you need a bike?"
So my wife tells him that I am preparing to do a triathlon. He looks at me and says "You’re too old!"
Now I'm agitated and tell him “that I have researched it and have found plenty of people my age who have done it, and for the first time.”
He looks and says, "So that proves there are a lot of stupid people."
I respond by telling him that "in my reading of racers’ first experiences, one of the best was their family members cheering them on, telling them they can do it. I however will have him yelling you’re too old and stupid!"
Family - sometimes the support is very underwhelming.
